Overview

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), formerly known as Windows Virtual Desktop or WVD,  is a desktop and app virtualization service run on the cloud for accessing assets through any device in-office or remotely. Users access a cloud-hosted virtual machine from their device just like their own desktop and Microsoft manages many of the tasks associated with physical desktop machines. Concurrency offers the following to help you leverage AVD:

• Azure Virtual Desktop Cost Model & Roadmap
• Azure Virtual Desktop Implementation & Workstation Migration

Azure Virtual Desktop is a Fit for Your Organization if you are:

• Frustrated with desktop management and costs
• About to do a major upgrade, refresh cycle or desktop replacement
• Using an MSP for desktop management and your contract period is ending or being re-negotiated
• Planning to deploy a major application that will require a lot of desktop reconfiguration
• Concerned about your security posture with desktops or afraid users will leave data on those devices
• Have remote workers looking for an optimal cost-effective way to provision and manage their desktops
• Struggling with getting off Windows 7 and looking for ways to buy more time

  • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Benefits angle-down

Your organization can benefit from AVD in a number of ways.

    • Cost Savings: lower overhead costs associated with patching, maintaining, and deploying physical desktops and reduce managed service provider (MSP) costs by shifting many physical desktop management tasks to the cloud.

    • Efficiency: deploy desktops in minutes versus days while Microsoft handles all functions associated with patching and maintaining VMs, avoid management issues with physical desktops, and leverage a unified management experience.

    • Security: no longer leave data on physical devices; leverage Microsoft security and compliance functions and stay current with the latest security patches and updates.

    • Capacity: Microsoft manages capacity while you deploy apps at scale as needed and leverage multi-session capabilities to share VMs.
