It was an great experience to be a speaker at this years SPBiz conference. SPBiz brought together 2 full days of SharePoint sessions that were streamed online and was put together completely free. My speaking slot was put in as the first time after Mark Kashman's opening day keynote at 11 a.m. cnt. That led to a large and active crowd. There was some great conversations and questions from everyone. My sessions along with other sessions will be available on demand for a period of time.
For my topic I wanted to talk about SharePoint Designer and some tips/tricks that I have discovered over the many projects that I have done that I do not see being utilized very often. Some of the items that I discussed:
- Upgrade options for 2010 to 2013
- Workflows in Office 365
- SharePoint Designer 2016
- Differences between SPD 2010 and 2013
- Custom Actions
- App Steps
- Utilizing REST Services
- Debugging Tips
For my demo I went through the process of creating a sub site on O365 using SharePoint Designer.
