Concurrency Inc., one of the largest consulting firms in the Milwaukee area, has been hiring droves of tech professionals for its offices in Brookfield, Minneapolis and Chicago.

Since the start of 2019, Concurrency has hired 71 employees. The increase in hiring is due to a strong demand from clients in need of consultation for using digital systems across a diverse Microsoft stack, which includes Microsoft Azure, a cloud computing service created by Microsoft, and Microsoft Dynamics, a business management software, said Kate Weiland, chief people officer for Concurrency.

Other needs from clients include digital transformation consultation for implementing tools for data science, data analytics and artificial intelligence, the cloud platform from California-based ServiceNow, and mobility desktop experience, Weiland said.

The Brookfield-based company, which employs more than 200 throughout its three locations, is currently looking to fill about 25 open positions that include associate engineers and architects, and others in the key area of cloud computing infrastructure.

Some of the hires have been interns, Weiland said. Through its Concurrency University internship program, the company has been building a steady pipeline of tech talent, she said. The company has 23 college students participating in the program this summer.

To add, in August, the company is moving Launch, a Brookfield-based high school educational mentorship program created by the Elmbrook School District, into the second floor of its headquarters. Concurrency is a partner of Launch.

Concurrency, a previous winner of the Milwaukee Business Journal's Fastest Growing Firms award, grew 95% between 2014 and 2016, according to its ranking in the Inc. 5000 list, the premier list of the fastest growing private companies in America. In 2016, Concurrency reported revenue of $20.3 million.
