Third-annual employee giving program supports children in need

BROOKFIELD, WI (January 6, 2020) — Employees of Concurrency, Inc. donated more than 3,000 stuffed animals to nonprofits helping children as part of the firm’s third-annual “Operation Stuffie.” Employees constructed and filled a giant toy room at Concurrency’s headquarters in Brookfield and filled additional bins at the firm’s offices in Chicago and Minneapolis.

Employees also made cash donations, which the firm used to purchase additional stuffed animals. The total value of donations in 2019 was $12,000, representing more than a 70% increase from the prior year.

The stuffed animals were donated to nonprofits helping children in a wide variety of ways. This year’s recipient organizations were Friends, Inc., Kids Korner, Missions, Inc., The Youth and Family Project, Kids Matter, Inc., Healing Hearts of Waukesha County and the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families.

“Families in need seek assistance from shelters and supporting organizations throughout the year,” said Concurrency managing director Steve Cundy about the program’s purpose. “Whether children have been removed from their homes, are experiencing disruption in their day-to-day routines or dealing with the loss of a loved one, through our collective efforts, impacted children will be greeted by a caring person, warm smile, and ‘stuffie’ they can grab onto and squeeze tightly during a challenging time in their lives.”
