Repeat winner—awarded based on survey responses from Milwaukee top-tech talent employees

BROOKFIELD, WI (April 16, 2019) — Concurrency, Inc., a Microsoft Partner of the Year-winning professional services firm has been named one of the “the best places to work in southeastern Wisconsin” by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel in its Top Workplaces 2019 awards program. The Journal Sentinel named 150 winners in all, with employee counts ranging from 50 to over 5,000.

“At Concurrency we aim to provide a work experience that offers large-company perks and benefits, plus the rapid career advancement and chance to do cutting-edge work that’s possible only at a smaller firm,” said Kate Weiland, Chief People Officer at Concurrency. “We are incredibly honored to be ranked in the top third of all winners—large and small—in the Journal Sentinel’s Top Wmbj-top2019.jpgorkplaces program.”

Weiland and nine other Concurrency associates attended a breakfast event for award winners hosted last Friday by the Journal Sentinel in downtown Milwaukee. They and other winners were honored for putting “the employee at the center of things” and “creating the right environment to unleash potential and inspire performance,” wrote research firm Energage, which partnered with the Journal Sentinel for the Top Workplaces 2019 program.

More than 49,000 employees throughout the region responded to confidential employee-engagement surveys inquiring about employees’ take on workplace culture.

“We are proud to be recognized for a work environment that supports professional growth, innovation, and collaboration,” said Weiland. “All too often in the information technology industry, career progress is limited because people get siloed working on aging technologies. In our culture, everyone stays at the forefront.”

As Chief People Officer, Weiland follows an “all about the people” philosophy. She said, “That’s what drives Concurrency’s success—both through recruiting hard-to-find top talent and through nurturing employees so they continue to grow and stay with our firm.”

Specific programs supporting Concurrency’s culture include the award-winning Concurrency University—a multi-pronged, integrated effort that reaches students in high school and college and help them launch their professional services careers. Others include our extensive new-employee onboarding program; various training and development programs; a wellness program; and community outreach.
