My experience as the first Customer Success Intern

I wanted to give a little background about myself prior to giving my overall experience at Concurrency. I came from and IT technician background before joining Concurrency. I craved change and one thing that I really wanted was to be challenged. A few months ago, I found out that I enjoyed project management and wanted to go down that career path. The problem was that it was a huge role change and trying to figure out how to make that transition. I had no prior business background, so I was already at a disadvantage- or that’s what I thought.

Journey to teaching Project Management (Pt. 3)

One of the most important components to understand about project management- is that it requires leadership. This is something that I am still working on in my own personal development in and outside this internship- so teaching it is not realistic at my current state. What I can do is share some finding’s based on research I’ve done for my own education. I recently read an article from the project management institute titled “Learning to Lead Chaos”. Journey to teaching Project Management (Pt. 2)

Teaching communication is tricky because it’s difficult to teach. Communication is learned through experience throughout our individual lives. There are also many different forms of communication. You need to able to distinguish how to communicate that is acceptable based on a situation- casual or professional settings. In project management, communication is everything. The PM needs to be able to effectively communicate with the internal team, external teams, clients, and any other stakeholders that are affiliated within a project.

Journey to teaching IT Project Management (Pt. 1)

As apart of my internship experience at Concurrency, I not only wanted to take what I’ve learned and apply it to my professional development but also extract valuable lessons to bring back to the University of Milwaukee, Wisconsin for when I give lectures about IT Project Management to college students.
