Concurrency Client Johnson Controls Wins Prestigious “Service Management in Action” Award at itSMF USA Fusion 16 Conference

Concurrency is proud to congratulate its client Johnson Controls International PLC on winning the prestigious “Service Management in Action” award at the itSMF USA Fusion 16 Conference in Las Vegas.

Johnson Controls edged out Whirlpool Corporation, the other finalist for the award, which was presented this morning. The award, which “recognizes and celebrates excellence in Service Management (SM) relevance and business outcomes,” was given in honor of a global-scale Service Management transformation on which Concurrency has been honored to assist Johnson Controls.

Johnson Controls’ Clark Bobert, Platform Director, GI Processes & Tools, was among those accepting the award on behalf of Johnson Controls. In a video aired at the conference, Bobert reflected on the significance of the project:

“We’ve partnered with Concurrency to help transform our IT organization. This includes building a world-class development ops framework that allows us to move things quickly into our organization.

“A lot of people feel that you can buy products off the shelf and they will meet your business processes. What you find in a multi-industrial company like Johnson Controls is that your processes are very unique and give you a competitive advantage if you can optimize those processes.

“Being able to understand those processes and put a service management thought process into it really has helped us make IT run more efficiently. Using ITSM best practices at Johnson Controls has really set the foundation for future success.

“We now have a platform that we can consume any process into; we can work with our customers on to optimize their process. It’s given us that framework to really have that conversation with our customers and for them to understand what it is IT does.”

Bobert also commented on Digital Transformation, which Concurrency helps clients realize: “Digital Transformation at Johnson Controls is all about making IT easy for our customers. This includes making it easy for IT to consume IT services—as well as our end users to consume IT services.”

Also in attendance for the award presentation were members of the Concurrency solution team who have participated in large-scale projects at Johnson Controls over the years and Account Executive Chuck Cording.
